NMO patients misdiagnosed with MS

An article in Medical News Today dated November 13th reports that patients with NMO – Neuromyelitis Optica – may be misdiagnosed with MS due to lack of awareness about NMO within the medical community.

NMO is a rare and debilitating disease that attacks the optic nerves and spinal cord, often causing vision loss, paralysis of legs and arms, and sensory disturbances.

If you suspect having NMO, and not MS, contact your doctor and share this information with him/her.
